We are number 1 in QUERFELD’s rescuer ranking!

Since the beginning of 2024, we have once again intensified our cooperation with Querfeld.

Querfeld is a small, wonderful company from Berlin that has been working hard since 2016 to save bent, deformed or discolored organic fruit and vegetables from being thrown away and instead enable them to find their way into kitchens.

With visual peculiarities such as skin defects, scratches, oversize or undersize as well as curvatures and deformations, these fruits and vegetables do not meet the standards of the retail trade and would therefore be rejected. As a result, around 30% of every harvest does not even end up in the display areas of the large supermarkets.

And this is where Querfeld comes into play, saving those fruits and vegetables. At Querfeld, “rescued” means taking “crooked” produce freshly harvested from the field and supplying it to companies such as PACE for use in the food service industry.

An absolute win-win situation: PACE is also a food rescuer and helps to significantly reduce food waste and, on the other hand, our guests benefit from (deformed) fruit and vegetables in organic quality, which of course are in no way inferior to their perfectly grown family members in terms of taste and freshness.

The fresh fruit for the staff breakfast, for example, is regularly supplied by Querfeld.
