What an exciting evening it was on Thursday when the winners of the individual categories of the Award for Change 2023 were announced on the 19th floor of the Axel Springer Tower. The Award for Change is a cooperation between the Global Sustainability and D&I team at Axel Springer and honors the commitment of employees for their initiatives in this relevant area.
Marco Roland’s nomination in the Climate Leader category and then knowing that he would be a finalist in the race was already a source of great joy.
The D&I and Climate Leader category was about recognizing an individual who is leading the way in diversity and sustainability, making things happen, driving projects forward and acting as a role model for their team.
And that all clearly fits to Marco. He is a constant driver for all sustainability projects at PACE. Whether it’s the increased seasonality and regionality of the food and thus the procurement of locally produced goods and food and those from fair trade, the even stronger integration of the Tiffin Box as a high-quality reusable system for to-go dishes, offering a reusable system exclusively for hot drinks with Recup and porcelain cups, the projects to reduce food waste and to raise awareness of healthy, vegan and climate-friendly nutrition through participation in VEGANUARY, increased offerings of plant-based dishes.
Through its commitment to sustainability, PACE has implemented many projects aimed at making a positive contribution to climate protection through our gastronomic offerings, reducing environmental pollution and making more conscious choices in our culinary offer.
We therefore congratulate Marco with loud cheers and are delighted to receive this award. Above all, it does so much good because it shows and proves that all the efforts that are strived for and undertaken on a daily basis are seen. In this respect, we would also like to thank all our guests for appreciating PACE and everything it has to offer!
