WE’VE LOST OUR MINDS!

WE’VE LOST OUR MINDS!

…AND PLATES AND CUTLERY!

OUR PLATES ARE HOMESICK!

We’re happy when you enjoy our food, even if you like it so much that you’d love to take it back to the office, the new building, or home with you. That’s the best compliment our kitchen team could receive.
What makes us less happy, however, is when our plates, bowls, cutlery, and glasses suddenly go on a journey of their own.

Because what might seem like a quick and practical solution actually has a very real consequence for us:
Every week, we lose a considerable amount — around 800 pieces a week — of dishes and cutlery. And that’s not only a shame, but also expensive and, unfortunately, anything but sustainable.

The clean, white ceramic plates are stacked close together, forming neat rows and columns—perfect gift ideas for any kitchen, their shiny surfaces evoking the joy of sharing a cup of tea with friends and family.

Why this is a problem:

  • Missing dishes mean having to buy more.

  • Reorders mean additional costs.

  • And additional costs mean an unnecessary drain on resources.

To be honest, that doesn’t meet our standards for quality and responsibility.

Our solution is actually quite simple:

We offer the perfect takeout containers for everything you need to take with you. These include

  • the bagasse containers, which are available for €0.50,

  • the stainless steel Tiffin boxes, which you can borrow for free as long as you return them promptly, or

  • Brand new: the Rebowl, which you can borrow and return using your library card for a €5 deposit.

  • And of course, you’re also welcome to bring your own lunch boxes, which we’ll use to serve your food.

Everything is practical, safe, and designed specifically for that purpose.
Our plates are part of the restaurant’s equipment and should remain there.

The To Go boxes are yours to keep and will happily go wherever you go.

A stack of metal lunchboxes, two beige compostable bowls, and a dark green reusable container with a clear lid sit on a stainless steel surface—almost ready for the cupboard or for your favorite mugs.

There are always exceptions:

There is an exception for taking your food to go.

Because, of course, we want you to soak up every ray of sunshine during lunch. Feel free to take your meal up to the REM and enjoy it outdoors.

We’ve set up a dish return station right at the entrance, where we’ll be happy to take your dishes after your meal.

Our wish for you:

If you’d like to take your food to go, just let us know.
We’ll pack it up neatly for you, no matter what kind of container you bring.
And if a plate ever ends up with you by accident outside the restaurant, it’ll be happy to see you again at PAPA or CANTEEN.

Because as much as we understand your individual eating habits, our plates are homesick and would rather sleep at home.

Thank you for your help. 💛
